State Persecution: Navalny vs Assange

If you're inclined to think (and not just FEEL, as the mainstream media incessantly tell you to do) you might reflect on the fact that the US is lecturing Russia on legitimately prosecuting domestic activist Navalny, while persecuting (NOT a typo) Assange, a legitimate journalist & Australian citizen over whom they have zero jurisdiction.
Assange is basically infinitely confined at the UK supermax at Belmarsh, while Washington endlessly appeals his extradition on trumped-up charges, and that's apparently just fine, nothing to see here.
Navalny, meanwhile, is being sent to a penal colony for clearly violating the terms of his probation (for EMBEZZLEMENT), but he's supposedly a Hero of Our Democracy or some such.
