[Supporter] The next MMO chapters are in the works! / RandoWis · Sunday, 2 January, 2022 - 08:46 · 1 minute

Hey there!

If you're seeing this message, it probably means you're using an RSS feeder or you've somehow managed to find the back-end message that protects supporter content.

No worries, though, if you'd like to see this post you'll either need to sign up for a subscription tier here ,

or if you're already supporting RandoWis, you might need to log in.

If you saw the old message, then I apologise as it mentioned a now-removed $1 tier .

It was meant as a placeholder that I forgot to delete and replace. Again, my apologies.

Nonetheless, thank you for your love and support!

Love you much much, and I hope you continue to enjoy RandoWis.

P.S For RSS users:

I have received feedback requesting a sort of categorised RSS feed, to prevent being notified of Supporter posts.

I sincerely appreciate your honesty in wanting to not receive a perk you didn't sign up for, however, the indie-website building industry is notorious for creating roadblocks and charging ridiculous amounts (sometimes reaching $100's/year) for the most basic solutions.

As you can tell where I'm going with this; in order to customise the RSS widget in any basic capacity (in this case, customising Categories) I'll have to pay a subscription fee (usually a recurring one) whose price depends on which publisher I picked and whether I picked their Bronze, Silver or Gold editions. Can you guess which edition has the customisability I need?

Here's a hint: it's never the cheaper ones.

With this in mind, I hope you understand why the RSS feed isn't categorised.

I'll try to find a compromise that prevents any sort of unwanted viewership, but in the meantime,

you have my gratitude for not wanting to snoop into what the Supporter's are seeing, even if it's just the post title.

Dinosaur survival MMO Path of Titans adds the Allosaurus and baby dinos / GamingOnLinux · Friday, 3 December, 2021 - 13:37

Path of Titans is slowly shaping up to be an MMO worth looking into with full cross-platform support and a big new update is out now adding in a ferocious new beast and cute little baby dinos.

The Allosaurus is the headline new playable creature, with it being able to hunt even the largest prey. The growth system also completely changes the game, and sounds like it makes it a huge amount more interesting. You now start off life in Path of Titans as a wee baby hatchling, where you need to complete quests to give you a growth buff that repeatedly over time will allow you to grow into the full awesome thing. Helping new players is a brand new tutorial area to teach you some basic too.

    Albion Online major upgrade 'Lands Awakened' arrives November 24 / GamingOnLinux · Thursday, 4 November, 2021 - 12:02 · 1 minute

Sandbox Interactive has announced that the Lands Awakened upgrade for Albion Online is set for release on November 24. It sounds like it's going to be pretty big too.

Thankfully, this time around it's not just expanding the PvP available in the game, of which there's quite a lot already. While it's a heavy PvP focused game, the team has gradually added more to do outside of that and this update builds upon it. The open-world will be upgraded with new dungeons, mobs, treasure sites, open-world PvP objectives for various group sizes. On top of that you can expect to see "massively" improved visuals and layouts for the different biomes, a new War Gloves weapon line and lots of quality of life adjustments.

Some of the QoL upgrades include the ability to purchase an entire loadout from the player marketplace, less clicking for farming, crafting and refining fees are clearer, easier party management and they're also going to be expanding the soundtrack so you get more soothing tunes while you run errands.

War Thunder is getting more terrain deformation in the upcoming 'Ground Breaking' upgrade / GamingOnLinux · Monday, 18 October, 2021 - 13:42

Ground Breaking is the name of the next major update for War Thunder and it sounds quite exciting, with some game engine upgrades to allow for more terrain interactions and deformation.

Not only will you see huge craters left over from some of the more explosive ordinance, you will also be able to push around the ground. Soil, sand and snow will be movable with your tanks, allowing you with a little patience to create your own little protective barriers. That's right, self-entrenching is going to be a thing. In the Ground Breaking update the developers will add in a new animation for vehicles digging in.

This is not something you'll be able to hide behind forever though, as more powerful weapons will of course be able to break through but the thicker the barrier the more protection you'll see. Check out the teaser below:

Big bomb craters will probably be the most significant part of the update though, as they can significantly alter each battle by making places harder to reach and provide cover as well.
