No plot details have yet been revealed, but the 1980 original centred on three female colleagues in an office who team up to take revenge on their “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” boss. Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton and Dabney Coleman starred in the film, which was scripted by Patricia Resnick with Colin Higgins, who also directed. It was based on an idea by Fonda, who commissioned the film as a vehicle for herself and Tomlin before bringing Parton on board.

Patty Lin says that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry and co forced rewrites of gags they didn’t like by performing them badly

Friends may have been a worldwide smash hit that made megastars of its cast, but – according to one of its writers – the actors weren’t always trying their best to be funny.

Patty Lin, who worked on season seven of the sitcom about a bunch of twentysomething friends in New York, has claimed in a memoir that the cast stopped enjoying being part of the show. According to Lin, they deliberately ruined jokes so that they had to be rewritten.

Murder Mystery 2 review – Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler return in crass comedy caper

      news.movim.eu / TheGuardian · Sunday, 2 April, 2023 - 11:30

Not even a missing cheese knife can sharpen the plot of this sloppy sequel about a husband-and-wife detective duo

In the sequel to the Netflix romp about a chaotic husband-and-wife detective team, Nick (Adam Sandler) and Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) return for another broadly comic, benignly smutty adventure. Their business problems are putting a strain on the marriage, so the offer of an expenses-paid trip to the private island of their wealthy friend (Adeel Akhtar) seems too good to miss. It’s also too good to be true – there’s a murder and a kidnapping, and, thanks to a missing cheese knife, Nick and Audrey are suspects. This crime caper has a certain frenzied energy, but it’s sloppily plotted, crass and so dumb, you wouldn’t trust it to use cutlery unsupervised.

      news.movim.eu / HuffingtonPost · Wednesday, 15 June, 2022 - 08:16 · 1 minute
